Brother David led Kampfire for Kids. The subject: Fear. We’re all afraid of somethin’, the dark, heights, bugs, etc. Even grown-ups are afraid of things. Scripture John 6:16, tells how Jesus walked on water through a storm, to the boat where his disciples were. They were very afraid. When they realized Jesus was in the boat & had calmed the storm, they feared no more. Remember that Jesus is in our boat, turn to him to take away your fears. In Kids Kountry, they talked about “Freedom Isn’t Free”. With July 4th holiday approachin’, they discussed how we have many freedoms; we are free to worship, where we want to live, & make a lot of daily choices for ourselves. There are folks in the Army, Navy, Marines & Air Force fightin’ today for us to have freedom. Many have been wounded, and some have loved ones who gave their life fightin’ for our freedom. Jesus died to set us free from our sins, so that we could have eternal life, he paid the price.
The message from Brother Bob this week is titled “Balancin’ Exposure” – Strugglin’ with Sin. Romans 7:14, an article from Western Horseman, and Brother Bob’s horse, Holly tied the message together today. We are all sinners. As Christians, we struggle with sin. It’s like havin’ a horse that works/does great to the left, but try and work that horse from the right, there is resistin’ goin’ on. That’s an unexposed side. Whatdaya do? Do ya just say it’s okay – let’s just work the left, the way that’s easy? NO! You expose the right, you work it over & over, with the left, until you get a balance, an obedient horse. As God’s people, we have to work our sinful side, the side that’s unexposed. How ya wonder? How do I expose both sides of myself to be obedient to God? 1. Get connected with God, 2. Spend time in His word, 3. Have fellowship with other Believers. We offer all that right here each Sunday mornin’, 10 am, but come early- grab ya a seat where a breeze might blow through, have a cup-a-coffee, see what’s happenin by lookin’ at the information tables. You’ll find us in the arena at Lakeland Academy, located at CR 2546 just off FM 35 in Union Valley. You don’t need to dress up, or even wear make-up; you just have to look up!
